Q: How many people can Shawnee Forest Hideaway accommodate?
A: Our private cabin comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests, making it perfect for couples, small families, or two friends traveling together. In the bedroom there is one queen bed. The sofa sleeper is also queen size.
Q: Are you wheelchair accessible?
A: Due to the natural rugged terrain of the area, our property is not completely wheelchair accessible. Our parking area is above the cabin with stairs to access the front porch. Our path to the hot tub is also rugged to match the natural beauty of the forest and is simply a stone path that leads down a hill to the hot tub.
Q: Is the cabin pet-friendly?
A: For the comfort and safety of all our guests, pets are not allowed at Shawnee Forest Hideaway.
Q: Is smoking allowed inside the cabin?
A: No, our cabin is a 100% smoke-free property. Guests are not permitted to smoke indoors. Smoking is permitted outdoors.

A: Yes! Downtown Golconda, IL is just minutes away and offers:

- Kunath’s Hardware for camping, tool & travel needs.

A: Yes! Hunters love our location. We are surrounded by prime hunting grounds in Pope County, and we provide an RV hookup site for those traveling with a camper. Bow and shotgun deer seasons typically run from October through late November, with other small game and waterfowl seasons throughout fall and winter.

A: The leaves usually peak from mid-October through early November, offering spectacular fall foliage views from the cabin and nearby trails.
